Open Access (OA)
OA articles are freely available to both subscribers and the wider public with permitted reuse. An Article Processing Charge (APC) is charged to the corresponding author to provide OA for a published article.
The APC for OA is:
• ASEV Members: $1,000 per article
(at least one of the authors listed on an article must be a member to qualify)
• Non-Members: $2,000 per article
Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) License
A CC BY license will be applied to all OA-published articles. This license allows readers of an article to distribute, remix, adapt, and build upon the original work, even commercially, as long as they credit the creator of the original work. Using this license for our OA articles will ensure compliance with Plan S, as required by cOAlition S.
For questions about the OA or Subscription publication options,
contact the managing editor at editor@asev.org.

Subscription
Subscription articles are available to individual and institutional subscribers or by payment per article. ASEV members are not charged for the publication of manuscripts 10 pages or less, nonmembers are charged $75 per printed page for the first 10 pages, and all authors (member or nonmember) are charged $200 for each page over the first 10. Additional editing or proofreading, extensive author alterations, extensive tables or supplemental data files, and any applicable bank fees for international payment transactions are also subject to charge.
Copyright Release
On behalf of all authors, corresponding authors must include with their manuscript submission a signed Author Agreement form, which includes a copyright assignment statement. Authors are granted the right to republish select portions (abstract, figures, tables) of their article in other publications with written confirmation (via letter or email) from the Catalyst managing editor and on the condition that credit is given to the original Catalyst source. Four months after print publication, authors may distribute their published articles through their own university or personal web sites, but not via commercial web sites, provided a credit line and a link to the abstract of the article in Catalyst are included.
If OA has been selected for a manuscript, a CC BY license will be applied to the manuscript and the original copyright assignment in the Author Agreement will terminate. The Author Responsibilities and Warranties in the Author Agreement will survive the termination of the copyright assignment.
