Pinot noir is often cane pruned in cool climates, limiting growers from implementing some mechanization steps such as prepruning. This study evaluated cane pruning and cordon-spur pruning in Oregon’s Willamette Valley to quantify impacts on basal bud fruitfulness during dormancy, vine growth, yield, and basic ripeness of Pinot noir.
